Peter Pedersen displays a diverse technology career, delivering digital strategies and solutions to an array of industries. Now he is sharing his wisdom, providing direction and advice to a portfolio of companies as advisor or in interim roles.
In the early days of New Media and as IT Director in Real Time Studios, Peter pioneered delivery of many new internet and web solutions for a large number of blue chips, SME’s and start-up’s.
While CTO at Channel Four Television Peter put in place a ground-breaking technical infrastructure to deliver digital content, digital audience participation and experiences to complement all broadcast television. He delivered in-house work and outsourced large projects to companies in Asia and USA. Peter was party to creating many long lasting innovative and award-winning digital services.
As lead consultant, Peter facilitated the build and setup of the original Digital Terrestrial Television broadcast network on Malta. He assisted the BBC with setting up automation of Interactive TV application scheduling.
At the Rank Group plc, he brought together globally located technical staff and initiated large-scale transformation programs, part delivered by in-house teams and parts outsourced to off-shore teams. Peter delivered 100% uptime systems for delivery of global gaming systems to the highest degree of compliance. During long periods he was fighting organised Russian cyber-crime attacks and working closely with the then UK High Tech Crime Unit and SOCA.
In online retail, Peter significantly changed the operational warehouse and customer services efficiencies and reinvented the customer facing experiences to leverage data driven opportunities and customer communications. He rationalised delivery and warehousing in the US and Canada.
Peter has built up a diverse portfolio of companies, now helping to solve many challenges and issues. He serves both as non-executive director, as advisory consultant. In the recent few years he has also held Interim CTO positions with Amanda Wakeley Retail and The National Childbirth Trust.
Peter demonstrates strong leadership skills, honed from roles in SME companies as well as large enterprises. He brings transformation ability and huge improvements to the companies he works for. He engages well and remains highly respected at all levels and maintains a high level of market awareness and technical expertise.
Since 2009 Peter has been an active board member at e-Skills UK now The Tech Partnership Degrees (govt. sector council for IT education) and he is a founding partner of the UK IT Leadership Council.
